Today, Areco has acquired Ferrex Scandinavia AB and is further broadening its business by adding outstanding expertise and an extended range of steel and metal products.  Ferrex, a company based in Gothenburg, has been offering the market a broad, strong and competitive selection of steel and metal products for almost 40 years. The company is in possession of a great deal of expertise and provides Nordic industry with products directly from steelworks to client plants. Areco breaks new ground with major acquisition in Finland

Areco is continuing its Nordic expansion with the purchase of the Finnish sandwich panel manufacturer TPE Spirit Oy. “We’re adding another key component to our already wide range, and now have our own sandwich element (mineral wool) production capabilities,” says Areco President Peter Areskog about the new addition in Finland. The new major acquisition, which is the company’s largest single investment to date, marks Areco’s first step into the Finnish market and opens up opportunities to take a greater market share in the Nordic, Baltic, and northern German non-residential property market. TPE Spirit Oy, which was founded in 2009, is one of the biggest sandwich panel producers in Finland. The company’s production facilities are situated in Somero outside of Åbo. Areco Metals stands on its own from May 1

Areco Group has today announced that the business area Areco Metals will become an independent company from 1 May 2017. Areco Metals is a global company that handles purchasing, stocking and distribution of raw materials. Purchasing is done from some of the world’s best and most modern steelworks inside and outside of Europe. Areco Metals offers sheeting in many different steel qualities and dimensions. The 15,000 square metre raw materials warehouse in Helsingborg harbour has a capacity of 30,000 tonnes. From there, deliveries are dispatched within 24 hours of the order being placed. Areco Metals is also in the process of establishing a Steel Service Center in Malmö, which will be ready for operation in 2017. Areco continues to expand through the acquisition of Mälarplåt AB

Areco has acquired Mälarplåt a Swedish export company trading in various types of secondary, and third grade steel products including surplus stock materials. The company is located in Sweden and offering efficient shipment solutions all over the world. The business will be moved to Areco Metals, the raw material division within Areco Profiles AB, in Malmö Sweden. Mälarplåt specializes on supporting small and medium-sized forging- and sheet metal companies in their purchase of commercial steel and sheet metal products.
